Wow. You would have to be a complete moron to think that the human population of the world is not in a pickle right now. There is so much blame to throw around, but none of that is going to get us out of any of it. Everyone should look inward and say to themselves how did this happen? Whether you are speaking of a virus that may be due to abhorrent conditions in what are known as wet markets in China. A lack of truth coming from government, idiots hoarding everything from toilet paper to beanie weenies, or complete idiots running around as if it will not affect them.

We are witnessing a once in our lifetime nightmare that only all out-world war or a climactic natural event could ever eclipse.

I hate to break it to you but this pandemic is going to be with us for a long time. From the sick and dying, the economic destruction, or the finger pointing and blame game. We are witnessing hopefully a once in our lifetime nightmare that only all out-world war or a climactic natural event could ever eclipse. The biggest issue for me is this has all been predicted for years by people way above my pay grade. Why hasn’t our elected officials and the people that they put into power to oversee the welfare of the world taken the steps to be prepared for this calamity? We all know the answer to that, money and power. They all promise but once they gain the power it seems the majority of them regardless of their motivations succumb to greed. How do we repair a damaged system, that has proven time and time again to not give a flying fuck about the people of this country let alone the world? I haven’t got a clue other than what the French did in 1789.

Motocross like everything else is going to change. The weak companies are going to disappear, it will be a huge financial loss for racers, OEM’s, bike shops, suspension companies, promoters, track owners, and all the businesses that depend on motorcycle racing and riding to pay the bills and keep their lights on. Many racers and weekend riders will quit due to the economic pain this is going to cause. There will be a ton of bikes for sale, but not many that can buy them. If you aren’t racing or riding you are not buying goggles, helmets, riding gear, race gas, tires, handlebars, grips, graphics, wheels, and all of the many components that it takes to take that bike out into the hills, desert or track. New kids are not going to be able to get into the sport because mom and dad will not be able to justify the expense. So many of you will lose your job, or at least a substantial amount of income.

If you can, put some money back into the sport that we all love.

For those of you who are still working, for those that still have disposable income this message is for you. Donate something to a food bank, and if you have any disposable income left over now is a good time to get your suspension done. Time to get new STI tires, replace that old helmet with a new 6D, throw on some new AME Grips, freshen up the scooter, or buy a new one there will be a lot of deals. If you can, put some money back into the sport that we all love. Let’s try keep these companies from collapsing and ruining the lives of their families. Its not just the owners, but the employees who work there. Freshen up you gear, get some new EKS Brand goggles, whatever you can. There’s not much you can do for REM, we will return as soon as it is safe to do so. I only hope that when we come back, you can too.
